Citusmail Terms of Service
Effective date: 3 November 2026
These terms apply to the Citusmail app, published by Fluminaris. By installing or using Citusmail you agree to them. Questions: kungchihchia@gmail.com, or an issue at https://github.com/pawtaetoe/Citusmail/issues.
1. What Citusmail is
Citusmail is a free email app. It connects your device directly to the mail accounts you add (such as Gmail, Outlook or any IMAP/SMTP provider) so you can read, sort and send your mail. Fluminaris runs no server for it and has no account for you: your mail stays between your device and your mail provider. How the app handles your information is described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Free and open source
Citusmail is free of charge, with no subscriptions, purchases or ads. Its source code is available under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 (MPL). The MPL governs what you may do with the source code; these terms cover your use of the app. Where they differ about the code, the MPL wins.
3. Your accounts and your mail provider
- You may only add mail accounts that you are allowed to use.
- Your use of each account is also governed by that provider's own terms (for example Google's or Microsoft's). Citusmail does not change them.
- You are responsible for keeping your device, your passwords and any app lock PIN safe.
- If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, you can withdraw Citusmail's access at any time in your Google or Microsoft account settings, or by removing the account from the app.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Citusmail to send spam, to break the law, to harm others, or to get into mail accounts that aren't yours. Don't use it to get around a mail provider's limits or security.
5. Features that estimate or check things
Some features interpret your mail on your device and can be wrong:
- Phishing and safety warnings help you spot suspicious mail. They can miss a dangerous message or flag a harmless one. Always use your own judgement before opening links or attachments.
- Subscriptions, their prices, totals and next charge dates are estimated from receipts and bills in your mail. Check the original receipt or your bank statement before relying on them.
- Verification codes shown in the list are read from the message; check the message itself if in doubt.
- Unsubscribing sends the request the sender asked for; whether they honour it is up to them.
6. Optional outside services
If you turn on Google Safe Browsing or VirusTotal, your use of those services is also subject to their own terms. They are off until you turn them on.
7. No warranty
Citusmail is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, as also stated in the MPL. Fluminaris does not promise that the app will be free of errors, always available, or that it will never lose, delay or misfile mail. Keep important mail on your mail provider's servers, which remain the primary copy.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Fluminaris is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, mail, money or opportunity, arising from your use of Citusmail. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Updates and ending use
Citusmail may change, gain or lose features, or stop being developed. You can stop using it at any time by removing your accounts and uninstalling it, which deletes everything it stored on your device.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Continuing to use Citusmail after that means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, except where the law of the country you live in gives you rights that cannot be waived.
